Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Kyle Samess says he felt compelled to stand up and fight for Americans. So, that’s exactly what he did.
17 years later, Samess proudly stands to be an accomplished Army veteran. He served as Sergeant in two deployments to Afghanistan and four deployments to Iraq, as part of the 75th Ranger Regiment 1st Battalion. His service gained him many accolades over the years, and he was justly awarded with yet another one by the Miami Dolphins, being recognized as their Everyday Hero.
With their Everyday Hero program, the Dolphins have successfully created an initiative that celebrates military service members for their hard work and accomplishments. We teamed up with them to add a $1,000 City Furniture gift card to the celebration, as an expression of gratitude for his service in the military.
Samess has won the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Joint Special Achievement Medal during his years of service—and the recognition by the Dolphins is a fitting way to bring it all full circle. Samess says that his family has had Dolphins season tickets for over 50 years and the tickets were passed down from his grandfather to his dad over time.
With his latest recognition by the Dolphins, Samess will get to celebrate family and patriotism—two of the things that led him to service in the first place. Thanks for being our Everyday Hero!
