For Tiesha Duncan and her family, there’s no place like home—especially when you had a hand in building it from the ground up. That’s the power of teamwork, and the result of our most recent Habitat for Humanity team build.
Part of A Rick Case Habitat Community, which has plans for 77 homes, the mission is to provide affordable home ownership opportunities to deserving families. City Furniture was honored to sponsor the Duncan family, working side by side with Tiesha and the Habitat for Humanity volunteers to make her dream home a reality.
Highlights of the home, located in Broward County, include sustainable, energy-efficient materials and building practices like impact windows. Team City Cares volunteered on six different days to take part in everything from laying the foundation to nailing roof shingles.
And all the hard work paid off when Tiesha and her family were able to move into the home, achieving a milestone she never imagined possible. As a Habitat for Humanity partner, Tiesha was selected for her willingness to partner with the team, perform sweat equity, attend education classes, and pay an affordable mortgage.
Congratulations to the entire family as they start down a new path in life!
