CITY Furniture | American Heart Association

We’re raising $500,000 for the American Heart Association
and inspiring everyone to live healthy and love longer.

Our Why

Who inspires you to raise heart health awareness? Our why is CITY Founder Kevin Koenig, who lost his life to heart disease at 54. Show some heart and share your why on social media using #CITYCares.

We Showed Heart

Big things happen when we team up! Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Broward Heart Walk, including many of our CITY associates, members of the community, and former Miami Heat NBA Champion Alonzo Mourning.
We're thrilled to announce that we have exceeded our fundraising goal of $500,000 for the American Heart Association, so we can all live healthy and love longer.
Survivors Have Heart

Are you a survivor or a caregiver for a survivor?

Survivors Have Heart

A survivor is anyone who has survived a stroke or any form of heart disease, like heart attack, cardiac arrest, heart failure, or congenital heart defects. Survivors play a unique role in our community, and we want to hear from you!
Truck Signing

Truck Signing

We invited everyone in the community to sign a CITY Furniture Heart Truck with the name of a loved one they wish to honor, as part of our efforts to spread critical heart health awareness.

Blood Pressure Screenings

Monitoring your blood pressure can be easier than you think. You can take control and keep your blood pressure in a healthy range.

American Heart Association

We teamed up with the American Heart Association (AHA) to tackle a cause near and dear to our hearts. Together, we are working to raise money and awareness to fight scary statistics—cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in America and the number one killer of women. Also, heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide.

Our founder, Kevin Charles Koenig, passed away due to heart complications, so we’ve incorporated the fight against heart disease into our mission to make the world a better place. In addition to fundraising, we’ve added displays to our showroom to invite our guests to get involved with this cause. We are also inviting our associates to participate in Wear Red Day and make American Heart Association donations.

Joining the cause of heart awareness month supports the AHA, and the health pillar of CITY’s 5% Giving Pledge. We stand with our community in the fight against heart disease and commit to raising money and raising awareness every year. Therefore, we are contributing $500,000 to the AHA though CITY’s 5% Giving Pledge.

As the number of global deaths relating to heart disease continue to rise, the importance of highlighting heart health remains vital. Exercising and eating healthy are a couple of the most popular heart health tips, but getting enough sleep, managing stress, and practicing mindfulness are sometimes overlooked. Heart disease and sleep disorders oftentimes appear together. High levels of stress decrease the quality of our lives and health. Mindfulness may help with stress management, improving the quality of sleep, and other factors that may lower our risk of heart disease. It is important for us to maintain healthy behaviors during heart health month and all year long.
