At CITY Furniture, love is always welcome in our home. One of our biggest values as a company is actively working towards a diverse world where everyone is accepted and has equal rights, and we’re proud to show our pride all year long. One of our biggest campaigns is our annual partnership with the onePULSE Foundation throughout the month of June, which was established after the Pulse Nightclub tragedy in 2016, in which the lives of 49 angels were tragically taken.
The mission of onePULSE is to raise funds with the purpose to open hearts, open minds, and open doors, so that we can all spread the word of hope, unity, healing and love. We are honored to join their important mission, and we participate in a number of awareness-building events during our annual campaign to help involve our entire community. This includes supporting the annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run in Orlando, as well as inviting our customers to visit a showroom to sign a Love Note with words of inspiration and love. The Love Notes are then shared with the Angels’ family, to further support the healing mission.
Most recently, we’re also backing the Tevin Eugene Crosby Legacy Scholarship over the next 10 years with a $100,000 donation through CITY’s 5% Giving Pledge, which is our pledge to give back a minimum of five percent of annual profits. This is a business scholarship created in honor of the life and aspirations of an ambitious young man lost in the Pulse tragedy. Our purpose in this is to be a supporter of LGBTQ+ community efforts, and help pave the way for a brighter future. Our CITY Cares team also participated in the Stonewall Pride Parade in Wilton Manors, celebrating Fort Lauderdale pride as one of the largest pride events in the state. It's all so we can spread the word that everyone can love like this.
