At CITY Furniture, protecting the planet is very important to us. It has always been part of our story. We believe in the value of home, and making it the best place to live. Therefore, we also value protecting our shared home, planet Earth. We have pledged to go carbon neutral by the year 2040, and that is what we call our 2040 Green Promise. We are also taking care of Earth through our green furniture.

Our eco-friendly furniture collections are 100% FSC-certified. This means that they are fully made from wood that comes from responsibly managed forests. The wood is harvested in a way that allows the forest to recover and thrive. This has a trickle-down effect on everything from the animals that live in the forests to the air we breathe. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has a global reach and helps us make sure we do not compromise the health of the world’s forests when we source wood for these collections. This ensures our green collections are sustainably designed. Because we want our green collections to help give back, we went a step further. We partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant one tree for every piece that is sold from our green collections.

Now, let’s get into some of the affordable eco-friendly furniture made with reclaimed wood. Our very first green collection is Seattle. It is a casual style collection and it is a natural beauty from the inside out. It is even finished with a water-based, low VOC dye so you can be certain it is safe for the planet in every way. Our second green collection is Chicago. It has mid-century modern style with a mix of black metal frames. Chicago is finished with the same type of water-based dye as Seattle. These whole home collections are one part of what we are doing to help our planet.
